Have I Missed Christmas?

Have I missed Christmas

With twinkly lights and starry nights?

Have I missed Christmas

With choirs singing and bells ringing?

Have I missed Christmas

With cookies baking and merry making?

Have I missed Christmas

With trimming trees and festive parties?

My days don’t look like Christmas

With elderly falls and 911 calls.

My days don’t look like Christmas

With too much medication which led to hospitalization.

My days don’t look like Christmas

With medical testing and recommended resting.

My days don’t look like Christmas

With a road to recovery that includes physical therapy.

No Child, you haven’t missed Christmas.

It isn’t about twinkly lights or starry nights.

It isn’t about choirs singing or bells ringing.

It isn’t about cookies baking or merry making.

It isn’t about trimming trees or festive parties.

Christmas isn’t a season, it’s My precious gift to you.

Christmas is the reason you know Me like you do.

Christmas is about Me coming down to Earth,

Salvation in a baby from the blessed virgin birth.

Immanuel for all mankind, a treasure to unfold,

The spotless Lamb that bore man’s sin, the prophets had foretold.

God with us, abide in us, Our Lord Immanuel,

I am in you, and you are My home, in you My Spirit dwells.

Child, you haven’t missed Christmas. I am with you

Through elderly falls and 911 calls,

Through too much medication and even hospitalization,

Through medical testing and recommended resting,

And the road to recovery that includes physical therapy.

I am in you Child, proclaim it now and shout,

I am in you Child, that’s what Christmas is all about.

  1. With all the hustle and bustle of work and end of year things, making sure everyone has what they need, I felt like I was missing out. This made me cry happy tears as I’m reminded that I am loved and not missing a single thing that is truely important. Thank you

  2. A wonderful reminder that He truly is “…God with us” in every season, every day and every circumstance of our lives. Thank you for sharing.
